 In this video, Baloche talked about the importance of the song being cohesive. He talked about sticking to a certain theme or feeling and keep it throughout the entire song.

This is a very important thing in music. If the song is not cohesive it won't turn out well nor be everything that it could be. I think that if you have multiple ideas or feelings, separate them into different songs and then focus on one.
