Chapter four

Shaping our character

In this chapter, the author talks about how God shapes us into the people we are today. Noland said many wise things in this chapter, but one thing that especially stuck out was “you are what you worship”. Wha this means is that anything that you put before God. Some example of this can be power, money, popularity, and so much more.
I often base myself on my talent. I put my musical worth in what other people say. So when someone says “that gave me chills”, I often think better of myself. But when people don’t say anything, I start to think that I am not a good singer. What I should be saying to myself is, “Courtney, you have been given the gift of music from God. He will use it no matter if you have a good or bad day. And He thinks you are perfect, why does it matter what they think?”. I just need to make sure that it doesn’t go to my head :)
