The Heart of Worship

Hey! It's Courtney again, and welcome to year two of this blog! So I watched "Leading Worship - The Heart of Worship" by Paul Baloche. In this video I love how he talked about how as a worship leader, you have things you have to do that others don't. He gave the examples of cutting out certain music and/or TV shows. He also talks about how we need to dwell in the Lords Word throughout the week as well. He says how he would sometimes watch something raunchy and then get up the next morning to lead worship and how it just didn't work.

I love this video because I see the drastic change in my own worship. About a year ago I was not where I needed to be in order to be up on stage. I loved the Lord but did not follow Him throughout the week. I was a Sunday Christian. I only followed Him as I should on Sundays. But finally, I fully committed to having God as the rightful King of my heart and my life and worship life changed more than I can express. Suddenly, I would get more comments on how much people could see how I was truly worshipping with my whole heart and how barriers had dropped. It didn't just help outwardly, as soon as I began fully following the Lord, suddenly my anxiety and depression were better. Suddenly I was able to trust people and open up to them (which are two things I had never been good at). I could go on and on about how this changed me so I will stop. But there is the basics of what this video reminded me of and what it meant to me.

  1. Courtney, I loved this post. Thank you for being so open about your personal transformations in your Worship attitude. You have been such an inspiration to me about how I can be a better Christian each day. Remember that we all have bad days and it's important to remind ourselves that each day is a new day and we can always do better. Thank you for being a great example of a Christian. Love you!
