In todays video, Paul and his team talked a lot about practicing with a metronome. They continued to stress the importance on being able to confidently being able to stay on beat (meaning not dragging nor speeding). They talked about how the energy in the Sunday service effects how the youth group is in their weekly youth group nights. They also talked about how it can be tricky to stay on the beat when the congregation tends to drag on the met which makes it difficult for the band to continue on beat.
There were a lot of good point in this. I think it is important to have an MD mic on stage with you whenever the band plays and even in practice. The MD mic will only be heard in the band's in-ears and it allows for a band member to tell the band to "speed up" or "ring it out" or any other queues that feel needed to help the band improve. I find that the MD mic helps work out most kinks that happen (as long as the person with the mic knows what to listen for and what to say in order to help correct it). I was confused about the part about the youth group. I am not really sure how it fits in nor if it makes sense to me. However, if there were more details I'm sure it would make sense. Overall, this was a good and informative video.
