What is worship

 Surprise! This video was not by Paul Baloche! This video was an interview of Bob Kauflin. The interviewer asked many questions, but the one that I'd like to focus in on today is "what is worship". Now, this is a very complicated question; but Mr. Kauflin answered it beautifully. He brought up many different verses from the Bible giving a explanation but also put it in his own words. He summed it up by saying that "doing anything while starting with grace and joy". What he meant by this is that through whatever you do, begin with the knowledge that you are able to do these things through the grace of God and that you should do everything you do with the joy of the Lord in your heart. Kauflin also talked about how he hopes the Church can stop attributing the word "worship" to music. Kauflin hopes that the Church can begin to expand the modern definition of this word to where it encompasses every aspect of a church service. He even went as far as to suggest that on the rundown sheet for each service to stop labeling the musical worship as "worship" to kickstart this change.

This video was so good! This may be my favorite video this year. I cannot wait to go back and listen to it again to take actual notes. I want to memorize all of the verses that he quoted, so that if/when I ever receive this question I will be able to confidently answer. I'm not sure if the Church should stop calling the musical worship, "worship" or not; but that can also be decided for each individual church. I loved hearing his views and opinions on this very difficult question. I was genuinely surprised at his answer and how well thought out it was...and at the fact that I was engaged throughout his entire explanation. I highly recommend watching this video.
