Songwriting and Inspiration From Journaling
Paul Baloche...as indicated in the title, talks about how he gets inspiration from journaling. He talks about how you should go with the feelings and don't stop playing just because you don't have something that rhymes. Sometimes just hum if you can't think of words right away and to just keep your heart in the same tone. Kari Jobe was a guest speaker in this video and she tells us not to focus on other people while writing because it isn't for them, it's about God.
I like this video, not just because Kari Jobe was on it, but also because it gave really good nuggets of wisdom on how to write. I feel like many of the recent videos say generally the same things; however it can be beneficial to hear these things over and over again because it helps it stick to your mind more. Sometimes I stop myself to find lyrics when I can't find any in the moment, so it's a good reminder to not do that because it helps more to focus on the feeling in the moment and later you can go back and work on the lyrics.
